This is a really simple recipe that you can use to make any type of “nut” butter you like – from peanut butter to almond butter or cashew butter to walnut butter. You can even combine your favourite nuts together to make a delicious nut butter blend. The benefit of home-made nut butter is that it doesn’t contain all the added salt, sugar & oils that commercial peanut butters have.
Recipe
Ingredients:
• 1 cup (or more depending on how much you want to make) of raw, unsalted nuts of choice
Method:
• Place nuts into a high speed blender (I used my KitchenAid Pro Line Series Blender) & blend until a butter consistency forms. You may need to occasionally stir the mixture. Note – this may take a few minutes of blending but will eventually the natural oils in the nuts will relsease and form an utter consistency.
• Place into jar & store in fridge.
• Enjoy!
Tip – for extra goodness & flavour, try adding extras like chia seeds, sesame seeds, shredded coconut, cacao or vanilla extract.
